The Cottage

Greystone Cottage is situated in North Street, Norton St Philip. Built around 1650 and Grade 2 listed, the cottage has everything you would expect – huge fireplaces, low ceilings with large beams, thick walls, and a walled garden facing south west. It also has an extremely well-equipped modern kitchen with Neff appliances, central heating, rich furnishings, comfortable sofas and beds, free Wi-Fi, TV and a Bose sound system.

Greystone has two double bedrooms with king size beds and a twin room. The large open plan kitchen and dining area, with sofa and fireplace also has the Bose sound system and a Yamaha U1 piano – you’re welcome to play it! This room is really a sitting room in itself, but there is also a separate cosy sitting room with open fire (logs supplied) flat screen TV, and lots of books.

The Area

Greystone Cottage is one of the oldest houses in Norton St Philip, which is itself a conservation village. The George Inn claims to be the oldest continually licensed premises in England, and has featured in a number of films. Norton St Philip is 7 miles from the World Heritage city of Bath, and just 3 1/2 from the ‘park-and-ride’. Also within easy reach are: Bradford-on-Avon with its 14th century Tithe Barn, Wells, England’s smallest city with a majestic cathedral and cobbled streets, Glastonbury and the famous Tor, and Longleat Safari Park.
